Henry Vann will continue to commute daily if elected as MP for Bedford and Kempston on May 6th

Henry Vann, Bedford and Kempston's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Campaigner, has highlighted his pledge to continue to commute daily if elected as MP for Bedford and Kempston on May 6th.

Henry said:

"As part of my pledge to the people of Bedford and Kempston, I will not claim any second home and will continue to commute daily, just as I do at the moment.

"The railway links are vital to Bedford and Kempston's future and I will continue to call for investment in improving our station and rail links."

Highlighting Liberal Democrat plans to re-assign £3 billion of funding to improve and expand the rail network, Henry said:

"The Liberal Democrats are the only party to have plans to complete and improve the Western link. This is specifically written in to our transport manifesto and we will fund a revolution in rail transport across the UK which will benefit Bedford and Kempston."

However, he was critical of Labour's record on the rail network, saying:

"The rail links are vital to our economy, and yet we have seen our railways decline under this Labour Government whilst investment is too tightly restricted or leaves Bedford and Kempston in the sidings repeatedly.

"Under Labour we have seen fares go up, developments stall, and our link with London reduced, all based on government formulae. The other two parties have promised much, but have offered no clear funding for these empty promises. They cannot be trusted to deliver for you."
