13 Mar 2012

Are you interested in growing your own vegetable patch? Or would you like to find out how to improve your garden? Then why not come along to one of the completely free workshops being held this month.

On Saturday 17th March you can learn the basic skills required to create a vegetable patch. On Saturday 28th April, you can learn how to plant raised flowerbeds, how best to lay out your garden and which combinations of crops work well together. Both sessions are completely free and take place between 10am and noon at theGreenManCommunityGarden in Addison Howard Park.

Councillor Sarah Jayne Holland, Portfolio Holder for Community and Regulatory Services, said: "These gardening workshops are a great opportunity for any green fingered enthusiasts out there to learn a bit more about gardening and how they can improve their garden or allotment.

"The classes are completely free and offer great tips and advice for local residents and I am sure they will prove very popular once again."
