KYMBROOK LOWER HAVE SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT
The 'Sing On Sing Out' programme will reach Kymbrook Lower School, today Friday 9th December, as children take part in a musical presentation at 11am. Cllr David Sawyer is visiting the school to enjoy the concert and find out more about what the young participants think of getting involved in such projects.
'Sing On Sing Out' is the Council's first access music programme. The programme also actively engages with teachers and classroom assistants within borough schools to help develop their teaching of music and singing.
Over the past term, dynamic and enthusiastic vocal specialists from Vocal Animateurs have visited lower schools, on a weekly basis, to deliver musical opportunities to children in Years 3 & 4.
Cllr David Sawyer, Portfolio Holder for Education at Bedford Borough Council, said: "Helping to develop the vocal and musical skills of the children is great at improving their overall self-esteem. Music is a gift that brings children together as a group and allows them to enjoy the experience while learning new skills."
Pupils from Kymbrook Lower, Thurleigh Lower, Christopher Reeves Lower and Eileen Wade Lower will all come together to take part in the performance.
