Lib Dems Win De Parys, Putnoe and Brickhill Wards

5 Jun 2009

The Liberal Democrats have won De Parys Ward in the Bedford Borough Elections, after David Sawyer almost doubled the vote of his Conservative opponent in the Ward, which had been a split Lib Dem/Tory ward before it was reduced to a single seat. David Sawyer will now be the sole Councillor for the urban Bedford ward, after a thumping victory in which he finished nearly four hundred votes clear of his Conservative opponent.

The Lib Dems also achieved emphatic victories over the Conservatives in taking Putnoe and Brickhill Wards, with four hardworking Liberal Democrat Cllrs elected across the two wards.
