Nick Clegg Holds Public Meeting in Bedford

7 Oct 2009

Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg visited Bedford last night and held a 'Town Hall' meeting at the Harpur Suite. The open public meeting was chaired by Liberal Democrat Mayoral Candidate Dave Hodgson, and was attended by a large audience of local people. Clegg tackled a vast range of questions head on, and was widely praised after the meeting for his open, straight-talking approach.

Commenting after the meeting, Dave Hodgson said: "Everyone I have spoken to following the meeting was very impressed with Nick's openness and straight talking. He was prepared to tackle every question asked of him directly, with subjects ranging from the war in Afghanistan to homeopathy. There was no spin, no planted questions and no evasion. Just a direct conversation with local people."
