Number Thirteen, Bedford's newest licensed bar and café, is now open for business!

Located on St Paul's Square, in the heart of Bedford town centre, Number Thirteen is a brand new, front of house facility for Bedford Corn Exchange. It represents another major investment by Bedford Borough Council in Bedford town centre and in improving the experience for visitors to its prestigious Corn Exchange venue.

Number Thirteen will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner every day as well as pre-theatre dining when events are taking place in the Corn Exchange, Howard Room or Harpur Suite.

There is a record of a public house on the site of Number Thirteen as far back as 1752 and this refurbishment maintains the architectural heritage of the site while significantly improving the facilities on offer. Number Thirteen creates additional space for private functions, a spacious lobby for visitors and direct access into the Corn Exchange for visitors to enjoy the shows on offer.

Lib Dem Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson said: "Number Thirteen is an exciting development for Bedford town centre and a superb addition to the Corn Exchange.

"This new front of house facility will offer a much improved experience for visitors to the Corn Exchange as well as offering a new licensed bar and café in the heart of the town centre, while bringing a previously disused building on St Paul's Square back into use.

"The Corn Exchange complex already hosts hundreds of events every year and we are investing in this new facility to ensure the Corn Exchange can continue to attract performing arts of the highest quality into Bedford town centre."
