Tim Hill has been hard at work with Council Officers, to resolve the travellers' illegal encampments on the Marsh Leys lay-by and the Brickmakers Arms land.

He ensured that eviction procedures were taken on those parking on the lay-by and the private landowner of the Brickmakers Arms was contacted.

He worked with Council Officers to encourage the landowner to take eviction procedures as the Council have no authority to act when encampments are on private land.

Tim wants to see the long-neglected Brickmakers Arms building and surrounding land secured and turned into private homes.

Illegal encampments are not welcome in our Borough and we have constantly pressed for a robust response from the police. However the travellers ignored legal procedures and the police did not use their S61 powers to remove the travellers.

Tim had constantly called on the police to take action to deal with the criminal activity taking place, which had been captured by CCTV on the industrial estate and by eye-witnesses.
