2023 Mayoral and Local Elections

15 Apr 2023
Manifesto launch 2023

Nominations have closed and the candidates have now been announced for the Mayoral and local elections on Thursday 4th May.

Mayor Dave Hodgson is re-standing to be Mayor of Bedford Borough and the Liberal Democrats are standing 46 candidates across the Borough, with a candidate in every ward in every part of our Borough. The Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats' Manifesto highlights their proven track record of supporting vulnerable people, protecting the environment and tackling climate change and providing opportunity for all, as well as being ambitious for the future of Bedford Borough.

Mayor Dave said "The Liberal Democrats are the only party that represents both the urban and rural areas on the Council and the other parties have not put up a 'full slate' of candidates - it is only the Liberal Democrats that are standing everywhere! Please do support both me in the Mayoral elections and the Liberal Democrats candidates in the local elections. A strong team of Liberal Democrat Councillors will ensure that we can deliver our manifesto and continue to be ambitious for Bedford Borough."
