Protect our School Crossing Patrols

Careless Cuts Cost Lives

Bedford Borough Council has announced cuts to numerous school crossing patrols across Bedford Borough which have been protecting the safety of our children for many years.

It is unacceptable that the school crossing patrol in Hawk Drive was closed without consultation with less than 24hrs notice and the position must be restored without delay.

We also call on Bedford Borough Council to allocate financial resources to maintain all existing school crossing patrols which are vital to ensuring our children’s safety in getting to and from school and encouraging sustainable travel.
