306th Bombardment Group Museum veteran’s event

Mayor Dave Hodgson attended the 306th Bombardment Group Museum veteran's event this morning, marking 80 years since the 306th arrived in Thurleigh.

Mayor Dave met with a number of relatives of veterans and thanked them for their father's and grandfather's service.

Mayor Dave took along the silver Rose Bowl that was presented to the then Mayor of Bedford John (Albert) Canvin by the United States American Air Force on Saturday 22nd September 1945.

Mayor Dave was presented with a lovely commemorative plaque which was accepted on behalf of the Borough and it will be displayed in the Mayor's Parlour.
