A week until SoupFest and the special screening of Sleeping Rough
Next week is Bedfordshire's Homelessness Awareness Week, with many events throughout the week. A week today will see SoupFest return, this was a very popular event last year and will hopefully be successful again. Next Tuesday evening the Vue Cinema will be showing the film 'Sleeping Rough. Details of the various events are below:
Art Exhibition 26 - 30 November, Riverside Square Pavilion - Art created exclusively by people who have experienced homelessness. The aim of the exhibition is to challenge public perceptions of the homeless community, and to empower the artists themselves and raise their confidence.
SoupFest - Tuesday 27th November 11.30 - 6. SoupFest is an annual festival of soup, showcasing Bedford's talented chefs, and working closely with local businesses and volunteers to raise money to help the homeless. There will be live music, great food, and free skating for children from 4-6pm.
'Sleeping Rough' film screening at Vue Cinema - Tuesday 27th November 6.30pm, followed by a drinks reception and an exclusive Q&A with the film's director. Tickets are selling well for this, so don't miss out! Only £5 - Book here
Poetry Reading & Book Signing by Seamus Fox, Wednesday 28th November at 7pm, Rogan's Books, Castle Lane. Seamus is the author of "No Homeless Problem & Other Stories", and lives at Emmaus in Cambridge. Tickets are available here
