Armed Forces Day Celebrations Give Bedford the Chance to say Thank You
Armed Forces Day celebrations began in Bedford last Sunday with the Armed Forces Day Parade, followed by the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag at Borough Hall on Monday.
With Armed Forces Day approaching on Saturday 30th June, Bedford's Armed Forces Day Parade took place on Sunday 25th June, featuring the involvement of the armed forces, veterans, local cadets, military vehicles, the RBL Riders, the Bedford Pipe Band, charities and more.
The following day, Monday June 26th, witnessed the ceremonial raising of the Armed Forces Day flag at Borough Hall.
Mayor Dave Hodgson posted photos from the events to his Facebook page, which you can see here, along with the following message: "Some photos from yesterday's Armed Forces Day Parade and this morning's raising of the Armed Forces Day flag, prior to Armed Forces Day itself this Saturday, 30th June.
The parade featured the Royal British Legion Riders group and an impressive array of military vehicles. Across the parade and the flag raising participants spanned young cadets through to older veterans, as we came together to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community."
