Bedford Borough Civic Carol Service at Elstow Abbey
The Bedford Borough Civic Carol Service took place yesterday, Sunday 15th December at the historic Elstow Abbey Church.
The service was led by Father Paul Messam of Elstow Abbey, and featured readings from Mayor Dave Hodgson, Bedford Borough Council Speaker Cllr Tim Hill, the High Sheriff, Deputy Lord Lieutenant, and the Chair of Elstow Parish Council. There was also a Christmas message from the Archdeacon of Bedford.
The service also featured Wixams Retirement Village Choir and Elstow Primary School Choir.
Commenting on Facebook today, Mayor Dave Hodgson said:
"Yesterday's Civic Carol Service at the historic Elstow Abbey church was a wonderful occasion.'
"A special thanks to both the Elstow School choir and the ExtraCare Wixams Retirement Village choir, who were both excellent.'
"I am also delighted to report that the collection raised over £500 for the SMART Prebend Centre Cold Relief in Bedford (CRIB) appeal!"
