Starting on Saturday 18 June, Bedford Borough Council is restarting its Rural Bulky Waste collections for this summer.

Due to the disruption caused by COVID-19, shortage of HGV drivers, and the need to prioritise the collection of household bins, the rural bulky waste collections did not take place in 2020 and 2021.

This free service is now returning for 2022, starting in Bromham and Wootton on Saturday 18 June and going around the rural areas of Bedford Borough throughout the summer with the last collection on Saturday 24 September.

These collections are for household waste, to enable residents in the rural areas to safely and responsibly dispose of items.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said "I am delighted to announce that Rural Bulky Waste collections are returning this month, and will run on most Saturdays throughout the summer and into September. You can find out when the collection will be in your area, and where it will be on the Council's website at www.bedford.gov.uk/bulky. This is another important milestone reached in returning council services after the pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic''

The full timetable of where the collections will be and when is on the Council's website at www.bedford.gov.uk/bulky.
