Bedford Poppy Shop Opens Tomorrow - Support the Royal British Legion's Excellent Work

28 Oct 2011

Tomorrow morning I'll be at the Harpur Centre to open the Bedford Poppy Shop. The Poppy Shop is of course staffed by volunteers, and gives you the chance to pop in, have a look inside and make a donation to the appeal, which supports the Royal British Legion's excellent work in providing welfare to those men and women who have served or who are currently serving in the British Armed Forces. The store can be found near Argos, so please do pop along over the next few weeks leading up to Remembrance Sunday.

By making a donation and wearing our poppies with pride we can show our support for the RBL's excellent work in providing welfare to those men and women who have served or who are currently serving in the British Armed Forces. As always, Bedford Borough is marking Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday in fitting fashion. On Friday November 11th, at 11am, there will be a Remembrance Service on 'Boots Corner' in the Town Centre, while towns and villages across the Borough are holding their own services on Remembrance Sunday, November 13th. These services are of course open to all, providing an opportunity to come together to remember those who lost their lives while serving in our Armed Forces.
