People travel from all over the world to attend this event, which is just on your doorstep if you live in the borough! Bedford's hugely popular River Festival will take place on Saturday 19th - Sunday 20th July.

The 2012 festival saw record visitor numbers with over 320,000 spectators and participants on-site over the weekend. In 2014, we expect even larger crowds as the festival continues to build on previous successes with its colourful milieu of live entertainment, river events, parade, funfair and fete with activities as diverse as raft races, fireworks, sports, arts and heritage villages.

Lib Dem Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said: "The River Festival delivers a wonderful atmosphere for people of all ages to enjoy. It is a genuine community event which celebrates the best of Bedford Borough and it really is not to be missed."

Programmes are now available at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC), at No.13 and within borough libraries. For more information visit www.bedfordcornexchange.co.uk
