Tonight sees Bedford's big Chirstmas Lights Switch-On taking place along the Embankment, with the show starting at 7pm. This is always a hugely popular, family-orientated event with people of all ages lining the Embankment to enjoy the show, which this year will once again feature a spectaular fireworks display.

It will be wonderful to see thousands of people coming together to enjoy the occasion and really kick-start the Christmas season in Bedford town centre. This year's event has been arranged to coincide with the first night of late-night shopping in Bedford, so why not enjoy what the town centre has to offer and take the chance to do a little Christmas shopping before taking the short walk along the Embankment for the show?

It will be a fantastic spectacle, and the children will no doubt be pleased to see that Father Christmas himself will be in attendance.

There is free parking in Lurke Street and River Street Car Parks from 5.30pm tonight (and, on the following two Wednesdays, coinciding with late-night shopping, on the 4th and 11th December), thanks to Bedford BID.

With the Christmas Fair coming up on 11th - 13th December along with many other festive events and activities and our ongoing Free Parking Deal offering two hours free parking every Saturday, there really is every reason to enjoy Christmas in Bedford town centre this year.
