Bedford Town Centre's big Christmas Fair continues today through to tomorrow, Sunday 15th December. The Fair includes the usual full array of Victorian-themed attractions popular with all ages, especially children, with the Helter Skelter, carousel, steam engine and traditional entertainment. There is a wide variety of stalls offering all sorts of wares for Christmas and beyond, including local Bedfordshire craft makers and traders, and tantalising food and drink on offer on the street and of course in the town centre's range of restaurants and cafes.

Today being a Saturday, there are also two hours' free parking in all Council car parks thanks to the Mayor's Free Parking Deal. With footfall having risen throughout the year, the opening of the redeveloped Higgins Bedford and a successful series of events and attractions, the Christmas Fair is all set to help round off a big year for Bedford Town Centre in festive style.

Commenting, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "The Christmas Fair is a tremendously popular event with people of all ages, with a wonderful festive atmosphere to enjoy. With the full array of lights, decorations and attractions all adding to the vibrant mix, free parking on offer on Saturday and the town centre's range of quality indpendent traders offering great gift options, there really is every reason to enjoy Christmas shopping in Bedford town centre this weekend.
