Bedford's Traditional Christmas Fair is Underway!
Bedford Town Centre's big Christmas Fair is underway, and continues through the weekend until Sunday 14th December. The fair offers visitors the chance to experience the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional Christmas with stalls throughout the heart of the Town Centre selling an array of seasonal gifts, foods and treats. Throughout the fair's three days there will also be an array of madcap seasonal street entertainment, music and shows that are filled with fun characters.
The wide variety of stalls offer all sorts of wares for Christmas and beyond, and include local Bedfordshire craft makers and traders, while tantalising food and drink is on offer on the street and of course in the town centre's range of restaurants and cafes.
The Fair also includes an array of Victorian-themed attractions popular with all ages, especially children, with the carousel, steam engine and traditional entertainment. This year, there will sadly not be a helter skelter, as this has had to be cancelled due to safety concerns relating to forecast bad weather after the fair is over on Sunday night/Monday
Commenting, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "The Christmas Fair offers a wonderfully festive atmosphere to enjoy. There are attractions for all ages, including traditional fairground rides and an array of stalls including local Bedfordshire craft makers and traders. The fair provides even more reasons to come in and enjoy Christmas shopping in Bedford town centre this weekend, with free parking as usual in Council car parks on Saturday for two hours and all day on Sunday and a wide range of independent traders selling high quality gifts."
