Big Energy Saving Week runs from 18 to 24 January. The week focuses on raising public awareness of how to switch energy supplier or tariff to get the best deal, access discounts and make homes energy efficient.

This is the 8th Big Energy Saving Week and is a partnership between Citizens Advice, the Energy Saving Trust and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy with the support of numerous organisations, charities and companies. The week focuses on raising public awareness of how to switch energy supplier or tariff to get the best deal, access discounts and make homes energy efficient.

The themes of the campaign this year are Check, Switch & Save.

  • Check that you aren't paying too much for your energy or missing out on any benefits, grants or support that could boost your income and lower costs. Visit the Citizens Advice website
  • Save hundreds of pounds by switching your energy tariff or supplier. Try using the Citizens Advice energy comparison service - which is free to use.
  • Save hundreds of pounds a year by becoming more energy efficient. The Energy Saving Trust website provides advice about heating your home, generating renewable energy and buying energy efficient products.
