The Borough Flag is at half-mast today at Borough Hall as a mark of respect and to remember Captain Sir Tom Moore who gave so much.

Mayor Dave Hodgson sadi "My thoughts are with Captain Sir Tom Moore's family and friends at this very sad time. I am eternally grateful for his service in both the military and then in civilian life. He is an inspiration to us all."

Mayor Dave added "A number of people have asked about how we as a country can remember Captain Sir Tom. I am sure there will be lots of discussions nationally and here in Bedfordshire, especially with Captain Sir Tom Moore's family. Captain Sir Tom was not actually a resident of Bedford Borough but lived in Marston Moretaine, and as such I have spoken with the Leader and Deputy Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council and passed on suggestions residents have sent me."
