Bringing Bedford Park Café Back into Use

A number of residents have contacted me in recent times to ask if and when the Bedford Park Café building will be brought into use as a café, and my response to date has always been that I have authorised the necessary work there and hope to see it operating as soon as possible. That's why I'm very pleased that after essential safety and refurbishment work, I'm now able to say that the building is almost ready for full use as a cafe and the Council is advertising for potential operators to come forward and tender for the contract.

We have invested in the building, with refurbishment works to improve the café taking place in addition to the inspection and structural survey work, and the limitations of the building that have previously restricted use of the café have been overcome.

Bedford Park really is stunning, and I know that many people will be looking forward to enjoying visits to the park even more with the prospect of a visit to the beautifully situated café. We will see how the tender process goes, but let's hope that someone is able to come in and open it up for this summer, and make a success of the café for years to come.
