Bedford Borough Council is urging local hospitality and leisure businesses to apply for a one off support grant, expected to be around £650.

This grant is through Government-funded discretionary Omicron grant scheme, and the Council is using it to support hospitality and leisure businesses that did not receive a grant through the main scheme. These include businesses in the following sectors:

  • Hospitality and Leisure including cafes, bars, pubs, hairdressers, bingo halls and others
  • Indoor facilities including businesses that normally provide group activities such as arts workshops, gyms, dance studios, escape rooms and others
  • Travel agents, tour operators and bridal shops

Cllr Michael Headley, Portfolio Holder for Finance said "To date, the Council has received less than 100 eligible applications and we are expecting around 500 local businesses to be eligible for this grant.

"We don't want a single business that is eligible for this grant to miss out so if you think you may be eligible, please get it touch via the quick online form on our website at www.bedford.gov.uk/bsg. The deadline is Friday 11 March, but we would encourage business owners to get in touch as soon as possible."
