This week, 1-7 February 2021, is Children's Mental Health Week, and this year's theme is Express Yourself.

Around three children in every primary school class has a mental health problem, and many more struggle with challenges from bullying to bereavement. The past year has of course been especially challenging for everyone, not least Children and Young People, and Place2Be's official campaign website has lots of free resources, ideas and activities to help children with their mental health.

These include a Virtual Assembly with BAFTA and Oak National Academy - featuring Jodie Whittaker, Oti Mabuse, Matthew Lewis and many more…

NHS England has today published a video, here, with a key message for Children's Mental Health Week from a Doctor who explains how young people might be struggling at the moment and the importance of accessing support when needed.

Locally, older children and young people can access the free and anonymous Kooth online counselling and emotional well-being service for those aged 11 -25. You can find out more on the Bedford Borough Local Offer website, here.
