Fireworks at Bedford's Big Christmas Lights Switch-On

Bedford's Christmas Lights Switch On event will take place on Thursday 24th November, at 7pm, along The Embankment. Everyone is invited to attend this free Christmas event when Bedford Borough Council will light up the town with another magnificent firework display to mark the start of the Christmas period.

Entertainment before the switch on, organised by BedfordBID, includes an appearance from dance troupe 'Boogie Storm' who recently appeared on Britain's Got Talent. There will be two opportunities to see the group perform on stage; 4pm and 5.30pm in Harpur Square.

From 2pm the beautiful Cairngorm reindeer will be visiting Bedford once again. In addition, there will also be a 'Star Wars' balloon modelling and free face painting by Glitter Arty in the town centre.

Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said: 'The Christmas Lights Switch-On is always a hugely popular occasion for all the family and we hope large numbers turn out to enjoy this free event next week.'

There will be free late night parking on the 24th November, from 5.30pm, in River Street, Allhallows, Queen Street and Lurke Street Multi Storey Car Parks. The Christmas Light Switch On will also mark the beginning of late night parking in Bedford Town Centre, to view the full schedule click here.
