Cllr Henry Vann - with Alexa Williams Lib Dem Campaigns Organiser - hands in Mayor Dave's Intercity Trains Petition to the Department of Transport on Tuesday 10 October.

1375 signatories were received for the petition up to the 10th October with only 24 hours remaining for all residents of Bedford Borough to have their say on keeping Intercity Trains in Bedford during peak time.

The petition called on the government to:

• Reinstate the project for full electrification of the Midland Mainline, and
• Abandon plans to remove any Intercity trains from Bedford
