Coffee and cake for a good cause
Jamie Oliver might think the nation can't cook but let me tell you, we certainly can bake! I went to some of the Macmillan Coffee Mornings being held around our area this morning and there were some great cakes to have with your cup of coffee, fundraisers had clearly made a huge effort and the coffee mornings I went to were well attended so the effort seemed to have paid off. A beautifully detailed iced cake being raffled at the hospital was really a work of art!
Cancer seems to touch so many lives. Macmillan Cancer Care helps with information, health specialists, care centres, support for carers, practical and financial help and I for one wish them all success.
I dropped in to the coffee morning in All Saints Church in Cople. The Church was originally built in 1087 and has an impressive square bell tower.
A little puzzle to end: the Arsenal shorts being raffled at the Swannary restaurant at the hospital were signed by both Thierry Henry & Dennis Bergkamp. I know that Arsenal don't "splash the cash" when it comes to transfer fees but can't they afford a pair of shorts each?
