Construction of New Iceland Store at Church Lane Development Underway
Following on from the recent opening of a brand new medical centre at the popular Church Lane Development, Mayor Dave Hodgson joined local Liberal Democrat Ward Councillors and others to mark more good news for the site recently, as works began on the construction of a new Iceland store. The new store is being constructyed at the oppostie end of the redeveloped site from the Aldi store, and will be open as early as this summer.
Joining the Mayor and Ward Councillors at the 'Sod Turning' event were representatives from developers Coplan and contractors ARJ Construction, with the event marking the start of work on the foundations for the site.
The construction of the 6,750 sq ft Iceland store follows the opening of the new medical centre at the Church Lane site in November of last year, and a new Aldi store prior to that.
Refurbishment of the centre's retail parade and community centre will then follow, along with the rear car park, completing the dramatic transformation of the Council-owned site for the benefit of the community.

Commenting, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "This site has already been transformed dramatically by this regeneration project, which has turned it into a vibrant, extremely well-used centre. Following on from all the improvements we have seen so far, including the recently opened medical centre, the new Iceland store is more good news for the site, and will enhance the centre even further."
