Deadline approaches to respond to Solar Together Bedfordshire offer
In May 2022, Bedford Borough Council announced Solar Together Bedfordshire, a group-buying scheme for solar panels and battery storage, which helps residents come together as a community and invest in renewable energy.
With rising energy prices, the Solar Together Bedfordshire scheme has offered residents an opportunity to generate their own electricity, which will help them to save on energy bills and reduce their carbon emissions.
Residents who signed up to join Solar Together Bedfordshire recently received an offer letter, which advises them how much installation will cost should they like to proceed with the scheme.
The deadline for residents to reply to their offers is Friday 12 August 2022. If residents have any queries about their quote, they can ask for advice by contacting the Solar Together helpdesk by email: bedfordshire@solartogether.co.uk or by phone: 0800 098 8994 (Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm).
Councillor Charles Royden, Portfolio Holder for Environment, said: "The Solar Together Bedfordshire scheme is a great way for residents to transition to clean energy and reduce their dependence on the grid. We'd like to encourage everyone who has received an offer to make their decision and send their response back before Friday 12 August. As a Council we also continue to advise that those signed up to the scheme seek at least one additional quote as a point of comparison and carefully consider if the offer is right for their circumstances prior to any final commitment. It's really encouraging to see the positive response to Solar Together Bedfordshire. We can't wait to see the benefits it delivers to local people."
Bedford Borough Council is working in partnership with Central Bedfordshire and Luton Councils as part of Solar Together Bedfordshire.
