Dementia Action Week 2022

Dementia Action Week is a national event that sees the public coming together to take action in supporting people that are affected by dementia. This year, there are free activities at The Higgins Bedford for all who are interested in or are affected by dementia.

Tibbs Art Activitea at The Higgins
Monday 16 May, 2pm - 3:30pm

Join in a relaxed art session on the theme of the Platinum Jubilee with Tibbs Dementia Foundation. No art experience needed. Refreshments provided.

Introduction to Dementia
Wednesday 18 May, 9am - 3pm

Join in online talks and a Q&A with ELFT Recovery College, Alzheimer's Society, Tibbs Dementia Foundation, Carers in Bedfordshire and Age UK to find out more about support available for those affected by dementia.

Around Bedford Castle
Thursday 19 May, 11am - 12:30 pm

Join us for a gentle, sensory walk around the remains of Bedford Castle and learn more about the history of the area. Back at The Higgins, investigate a range of interesting objects with links to the castle and our own history and memories. Refreshments provided.
