Easter activities and the Street Iftar
It is a religious time of year with both Lent and Ramadan currently being observed and Good Friday and Easter Sunday fast approaching. Vaisakhi and Eid-al-Fitr will also be celebrated later this month.
As well as religious services at our Churches and Mosques there are a number of activities and events to mark both Easter and Ramadan.
Easter Crafts activities have started from today at all of our libraries. Crafts include making Easter bunting, Easter wreaths, and butterfly bracelets. There will also be Lego clubs in all the libraries. Bedford Central Library has a special Easter Story Time on Wednesday 5 April 11:30am - 12:00pm. All children are welcome, even if they are not yet library members, and all activities are free. Parents and carers must remain with children under 14. The activities continue until 16 April.
Bedford Bid have arranged another Easter Trail in Bedford town centre which runs until 10 April. You can find out more at www.lovebedford.co.uk/easter.php where you can download a map or you can collect a map from Bedford Central Library, Creams Café, Sundaes Gelato or Aconchego Portuguese.
Next Thursday (6 April) the Bedford Street Iftar returns organised by Islam Bedford and Eid in Bedford. The Iftar is the meal eaten after sunset during Ramadan and this event is open to all members of our communities. The event is free but the organisers would like people to book tickets at www.eventbrite.com/e/bedford-street-iftar-2023-tickets-579664471037
