Easter Holidays at The Higgins Bedford
'Creatures in the garden' are coming to The Higgins Bedford this Easter holiday.
The local museum and art gallery has lots of creative art and craft activities inspired by the upcoming 'Round and Round the Garden' exhibition.
This exhibition celebrates all things gardens and gardening, with works from major artists from the internationally renowned collection and members of the public invited to send in photos for the #BedfordLovesGardening display.
Workshops at The Higgins Bedford this Easter are:
Tuesday 9 April - Creepy Crawly Clay. Make clay models with local artist Victoria Houghton - Cost £5
Wednesday 10 April - Bug Hotels. Build and decorate a cosy home for garden bugs to live in - Cost £3
Thursday 11 April - Garden Mosaics with Qemamu Mosaics. Create and decorate your very own mosaic to take home - Cost £5
Tuesday 16 April - Clay Creatures. Make clay models with local artist Victoria Houghton - Cost £5
Wednesday 17 April - Pebble Pals. Paint rocks to hide and seek in the garden - Cost £3
Thursday 18 April - Birds and Butterflies. Create your own set of wings and let your imagination soar -Cost £3
Tom Perrett, Manager for Libraries and Culture said "There's a lot for kids and families to do and get involved with at our local museum and art gallery this Easter, with clay models, mosaic creation, pebble pals and the chance for kids to make their own set of wings. It's also a great opportunity to come have a look around the new exhibitions opening in April, completely free."
Workshops start at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Workshops can be booked in advance at The Higgins' Reception. All workshops last an hour and are aimed at 5 to 13 year olds (not suitable for under 3's).
