First Northamptonshire, now East Sussex's Conservative Council is running out of money!

7 Aug 2018

A second Conservative-run authority has warned it may not be able to deliver even the most basic of council services. East Sussex County Council follows Northamptonshire County Council who have already said they may only be able to offer 'core services' next year.

The Guardian reports that East Sussex Council have said growing financial pressures and rising demand for social care were forcing it to restrict services to the most vulnerable residents only. Under this "core offer", many of its services will be severely cut or shut down completely.
