Flying High
Summer must be coming, because the Bedford International Kite Festival has come around again. It's taking place this Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June in Russell Park, and this year in addition to the all of the usual attractions at this free event there's a lot more going on besides.
The long-standing Kite Festival will be joined by the inaugural Bedford Festival of Motoring. This year will also see 'Party in the Park' on Saturday evening, hosted by the team behind the dance stage at 2018 River Festival.
The Kite Festival will feature kites from all over the world along with inflatables, funfair rides, bars, food, a canoe trail on the river and the craft marquee to explore.
Meanwhile along the Embankment, the Festival of Motoring will see an amazing array of cars on display, bringing something completely new to what should be a fantastic weekend.

Bedford is a town of events, and I want that identity to only get stronger. That's why I'm pleased there's even more on offer to enjoy this weekend, and hope the Kite and Motoring Festivals attract large numbers from near and far to a brilliant, free weekend of fun.
