At the September Executive of Bedford Borough Council it was revealed that the Council saved £273,000 as a result of not having to support the leisure facilities managed by Fusion for the last six months of 2020/2021.

Negotiations between Bedford Borough Council and Fusion have now determined that this support is no longer necessary.

Councillor Michael Headley said "It is good news that this money, put aside to protect the operation of our leisure facilities during the government restrictions, has not been needed. Despite the understandable enforced closures of facilities during the year the council did receive funding from the government to compensate for lost leisure income that was sufficient to povide the support required to keep the facilities in operational condition as well as replace some of our lost income."

Fusion are now again paying Bedford Borough Council as the facilities are now open.
