Get ready for a Garden Party and the Platinum Jubilee with Half Term Activities at The Higgins Bedford
During half term week, The Higgins Bedford are inviting families to join in a series of fun and creative activities inspired by gardens and the Platinum Jubilee from Tuesday 31 May to Friday 3 June.
On Tuesday 31 May, children can get ready for a garden party by taking part in this creative activity to design and decorate their own gardening apron.
Families can join Grandma Mo on Wednesday 1 June to hear the story of 'The Giant Sunflower' amongst the artworks in the gallery. Afterwards, children can make and decorate seedling pots and then plant sunflowers to take home.
These activities cost £3.05 per child and begin at 11:15am, 12:45pm and 2:15pm throughout the days.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance online at www.thehigginsbedford.org.uk or by calling the Cultural Services Box Office on 01234 718044. Accompanying adults go free and do not need to book a place.
There are also free activities for families to enjoy this half term on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June, when children can get creative to make a hat or crown for their own celebrations of the Platinum Jubilee. This activity runs from 2pm to 4pm throughout both days.
There is no need to book a place on this activity, but space is limited and there may be a wait to join in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Cllr Doug McMurdo, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at Bedford Borough Council, said: "Once again, The Higgins Bedford are back with a great range of Half Term activities for families in Bedford Borough. To find out more about the events taking place, visit The Higgins Bedford website."
