Government Follows in Bedford Borough Council's Footsteps!

17 May 2010

I was pleased to see that the new Coalition Government has decided to follow Bedford Borough Council's lead and sign up to the 10:10 Climate Change Campaign!

Seriously, this is excellent news - I am extremely supportive of the campaign, and having signed the Council up to it I know how much impetus it has given everyone to really make an impact on tackling climate change and saving local taxpayers' money by cutting energy usage. I wish the Government luck in hitting the target of a 10% cut in carbon emissions within 12 months. It's a real challenge, (as I know only too well!), but one that's well worth taking on if we are serious to make a real difference in protecting and improving both the local and the global environment.

There's more information about the Government's pledge, and the campaign in general, at the 10:10 website - see the link below.
