Great Big Green Week
We are now less than a week away from the start of Great Big Green Week across the UK and here in Bedford Borough. The Great Big Green Week will run between 18-26th September.
There are a number of events happening across the Borough from plant stalls, garden tours, wellbeing walks, recycling, sustainable transport and online debates to a Green Earth Vegan Fair and Made in Bedford's September Market. You can see a list at https://www.greatbiggreenweekbedford.co.uk/eventsandactivities.
It is also a great opportunity to encourage voluntary, community groups, not for profit organisations, public sector schools and registered charities to apply to The Mayor's Climate Change Fund which can provide up to 50% match funding (from £5,000 up to £20,000) for improvements that reduce carbon emissions and energy costs of community buildings within Bedford Borough. You can find out more about the Climate Change Fund https://www.bedford.gov.uk/environmental-issues/sustainability2/sustainability-projects/climate-change-fund-2020-2024/.
Whilst the Council is actively involved in delivering a number of these activities throughout the week, it is also supporting a number of these wonderful events, I would like to thank Bedfordshire Climate Change Forum and all the volunteers involved for their support and enthusiasm. You can also find out more about the Great Big Green Week on facebook and twitter.
