Great Denham Primary School- First Ever Ofsted Inspection Finds...
Great Denham Primary School has been inspected by Ofsted for the first time. The school opened its doors in September 2012, and Ofsted have judged it to be a good school.
The inspection took place on the 17 - 18 October.
Lib Dem Cllr Henry Vann, Portfolio Holder for Education at Bedford Borough Council said: "This is great news for Great Denham. The school has scored highly in each category and behaviour and safety particularly highlighted as outstanding. Visiting the school last term, I found the educational approach from the whole school community - its head teacher, teachers, staff, parents and pupils - inspiring. They have worked hard to make this vision a reality."
Denise Burgess, Head teacher at Great Denham Primary School, said: "We are thrilled that our recent OFSTED inspection reflects our unique and innovative school. This is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the fantastic team of staff, governors, parents and children at Great Denham."
Bedford Borough Council has provided funding of circa. £26 million towards the improvement and maintenance of schools in the borough within the 2012/13 financial year.
Last year, schools in Bedford Borough were praised after the Local Authority area was recognised by Ofsted as offering one of the best opportunities in the country for children to attend a good or outstanding primary school. Schools in Bedford Borough were ranked as 11th out of 150 local authorities across the country and number one in the Eastern region, with 87% of children attending a good or outstanding lower or primary school.
