Happy Birthday to the NHS!

Today, 5th July 2020, marks 72 years since the NHS and social care system was established.

At 5pm the country came together once again to say a special thank you and applaud the commitment, courage and sacrifice shown by NHS staff, during the Coronavirus pandemic and at all times.

And there was a very special moment in Bedford to mark the occasion, with a Spitfire fly past of Bedford Hospital shortly before 5pm. You can see photos of the Spitfire over Bedford on the Goldington Liberal Democrats Facebook page, here.

Meanwhile, Liberal Democrat Health and Social Care Spokesperson Munira Wilson MP tweeted: "On the 72nd anniversary of both our NHS and social care systems, a huge thank you to all those working across health & social care, especially for your immense sacrifice during the Covid crisis.
