International Men's Day - Better Health for Men and Boys
Today, November 19th is International Men's Day, and Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats are backing this year's theme of 'Better Health for Men and Boys.'
Commenting, Bedford Borough Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson Cllr Dean Crofts said: "With this year's theme being 'Better Health for Men and Boys', International Men's Day provides an important opportunity to raise awareness of the health issues that men and boys can face. These include, for example, the high suicide rate for men and the most common cancer in men in the UK, prostate cancer.'
"This is of course a particularly challenging time for everyone and it is crucial that men follow the guidelines and look after their health. That includes seeking treatment to get the help you need, whether that be coronavirus-related or not. There are services and support available locally if you have any concerns over your mental or physical health, and the NHS is there for people who need help."

More locally, the NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes CCGs have been posting examples from some of their male employees of how they look after their mental wellbeing, and you can find them here.
