Dozens of potential employers will be on hand when The Jobs Market returns to Bedford this week.

This year's event is on Wednesday, 10 September from 10am - 3pm at the Bedford Corn Exchange. As well as employers advertising their job opportunities, there will be careers advice and guidance available, plus information on starting a business.

Some of the businesses who will be there include the Aircraft Research Association, Amey, Asda, Bedford College, Capita, Charles Wells, NatWest, Springfield, The Army and Waitrose; alongside Bedford Borough Council and Jobcentre Plus.

In addition to the 3,500 plus live jobs being advertised on the day, there will be more than 60 apprenticeships on offer from Bedford Hospital, Capita, Bedford College and others.

Last year's event saw more than 1,200 people attend over the course of the five hours, with 34 employers represented, along with a number of training providers and information support services. More than 1,000 job opportunities were available on the day, resulting in more than 300 claimants signing-off after the event.

Lib Dem Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, who will be welcoming employers to the event, said: "This will be an invaluable event for jobseekers and employers alike.

"It is a great way to either get yourself back into work or receive help in entering the job market for the first time. There will be a number of well-known companies and other smaller businesses there on the 10th so please come along to see what they have to offer."

There is no need to book for this FREE event and you can just turn up on the day.
