Join the Campaign to Stand up for Carers
Carers - paid and unpaid, young and old - do a remarkable and important job.
They deserve our support but are far too often forgotten and ignored. That's why the Liberal Democrats are standing up for carers and will lead the way to a more caring society as we emerge from this pandemic.
This starts by raising Carer's Allowance for unpaid carers by £1,000 a year.

900,000 full-time unpaid carers rely on Carer's Allowance - but at just £67.25 a week, it's not nearly enough. More than a third of those on Carer's Allowance are struggling to make ends meet. Many have been struggling for months, often relying on foodbanks to feed themselves and the people they care for.
That's why the Liberal Democrats are calling on the Government to immediately raise Carer's Allowance by £1,000 a year.
Commenting recently on the fantastic efforts of local carers here in Bedford Borough, Liberal Democrat Cllr and Portfolio Holder for Adult Services Cllr Wendy Rider said: "... a huge thank you to the many, many unpaid carers across Bedford Borough. Carers are on the front line in our community, keeping our Borough going - more so than ever this year when events have put more pressure on carers than ever before."
Those carers need a deserve a fairer deal, starting with an increase in Carer's Allowance - please visit www.change.libdems.org.uk/carers and back the campaign if you agree.
