A joint initiative between Bedford Borough Council, Bedfordshire Police and other partners in and around Midland Road in Bedford has been launched to help drive out crime and anti-social behaviour and carry out other improvements in the area.

The Bedford Borough Community Safety Partnership's Operation Apex is a joined-up approach to tackle crime and social issues. It is also providing opportunities for local businesses and residents to come together, voice their concerns and work together to improve the area and make it a better place to live in for all.

There are also plans for a multi-agency hub within the area to have a footprint in the town, which will be easily accessible and visible in order to break the cycle of social issues.

The partnership has already undertaken a number of successful joint action days and community engagement events in the Midland Road area, and Operation Apex will maintain close partnership working between the police, the council and other agencies.
