Cllr Tim Hill

Responding to the news about the Court of Appeal's rejection of Bedfordshire Against Covanta Incinerator's (BACI) challenge over the Environmental Permit for the Covanta Incinerator at Rookery Pit near Stewartby, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Elstow, Stewartby and Kempston Hardwick Tim Hill said:

"This is a terrible blow for a community that has come together and fought so hard against the dreadful Covanta plans. Huge thanks to Bedfordshire Against Covanta Incinerator and everyone who has been part of the campaign against this vastly oversized incinerator.'

"I will keep working with residents to ensure their voices are heard over the need to minimise the impact of the development on the local community as far as possible."
