Lib Dems Go For Control
Bedford Borough Lib Dems have announced a full slate of candidates in their bid to take the lead on the Borough Council away from the Labour Group.
At the launch of their manifesto for the Borough Elections at Cafe Central, Bedford, Lib Dem Group Leader Michael Headley said:
"For over 10 years Labour have been the largest party on the Borough. This year the Liberal Democrats are set to take over that role. We are currently only just behind them with the Tories a split small 3rd party. There is a clear choice for running the Council after May 2nd - either more of the same from Labour or a new start with the Lib Dems."
Launching the Bedford Borough manifesto Lib Dem MEP Andrew Duff said:
"I am pleased to back the Lib Dem challenge here in Bedford. The manifesto sets out the clear priority of winning back the council for local residents."
"I urge people to back the strong team of Liberal Democrat candidates right across the Borough. This is the only way to get a change for the better that Bedford deserves."
Andrew Duff launched the manifesto on-line at local internet cafe, Central Cafe in Harpur Street. The full manifesto is available online at www.bedfordlibdems.org/manifesto2002
