Liberal Democrat Councillor Tim Hill calls for a scrutiny review of rail services for Bedford Borough
At last night's Environment and Sustainable Communities meeting Liberal Democrat Councillor Tim Hill called on the Committee to hold a review of rail services in the Borough, including inviting the operators to appear in front of the Committee.
Councillor Hill highlighted the loss of Intercity trains at peak times and expressed his concern of the impact this could have on the local economy and the housing market.
Councillor Hill said "It is important that the Council look at the rail services including the East Midlands Intercity service, the new Thameslink timetables as well as the new East Midlands Rail franchise. We need to ensure Bedford Borough has the best possible rail services that will help us continue to build our economy."
