Mayor Dave Hodgson has announced that in a further measure to support local shoppers and businesses during the important Christmas trading period, the first two hours' parking in Queen Street multi storey car park will be free every day throughout December.

The offer is in addition to the hugely successful 'Mayor's Free Parking Deal,' which sees all Council-run town centre car parks offer 2 hours' free parking on Saturdays. The Council's shoppers car parks and on street parking are also free all day on Sunday and on-street parking is free after 6pm.

Free evening parking is also being offered on the night of the Big Christmas Lights Switch-On along the Embankment on 26th November, from 5.30pm in River Street, Allhallows and Lurke Street Multi Storey Car Parks.

Queen Street car park is a short walk from the central shopping area, on the north side of Bedford Town Centre.

Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson said "We take supporting local businesses during the Christmas period very seriously and want to help shoppers travelling into Bedford as much as we can. These Christmas Car Parking Offers are incredibly competitive and will make sure Bedford Town Centre is the place to go for cheap, easy parking during a very busy time of year!"
