Mayor Dave Hodgson on East West Rail

This week the Government recommitted to East West Rail and earlier today Mayor Dave Hodgson spoke to BBC Look East.

Mayor Dave called on the Government and the East West Rail Company to give us more detail and give us more detail soon including the route, electrification and how many tracks will be needed north of Bedford station.

We have been waiting for this information for almost two years and a number of residents houses have been put at risk by the uncertainty of how many tracks will be needed.

Mayor Dave and the Liberal Democrats have consistently called for a solution that uses the existing four tracks which would remove the need for any homes to be at risk in the Poets area of Bedford and will continue to argue for four-tracks as opposed to six tracks.
