Mayor Dave Hodgson writes to Petrol Stations in Bedford Borough Over Higher Prices

5 Apr 2021

Mayor Dave Hodgson has written to petrol stations in Bedford Borough urging them to reduce their prices so Bedford residents are not charged more than those living in Milton Keynes.

Once again, we have seen the petrol price in Bedford creep up to a position where it can be over 8p a litre cheaper in Milton Keynes.

Recent figures showed the cheapest price in Bedford for unleaded petrol, according to PetrolPrices.com, to be 124.9p while the highest price was 129.9p.

In nearby Milton Keynes, at the same time, the range of prices was 116.7p to 123.9p.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said "There can be no justification for this price difference and I have written to petrol stations in Bedford Borough asking them to reduce their prices so local residents do not have to pay more than those in Milton Keynes."
